Best Blueberry Muffins

DSC04078
Hey all,

Lets talk muffins! Now I know that muffins are not quite so 'in' as the popular cupcake but you really can't beat a good old blueberry muffin (and if you are put off by the normally mega size you can make them smaller!) This recipe works out as 27p per muffin (which is an absolute bargain!) and once you try these babies there will be no returning to shop bought ones cos they are so damn good!

Ingredients

11oz (300g) flour
5oz (150g) caster sugar
3tsp baking powder
3.5oz (100g) butter
7fl oz (200ml) semi-skimmed milk
2tsp vanilla extract
5oz (150g) blueberries

1)Stir together the flour, sugar and baking powder in a bowl
2)Melt the butter in a pan on the hob

3)Remove from the heat, pour into a separate bowl and whisk in the eggs, milk and vanilla extract

4)Gently fold the butter mixture and blueberries into the flour mixture until just combined

Hey all!

Wooo this should be the last that you hear of exams in a while as they are over! Now all our attention can be on the blog and summer- can't wait! These pictures were taken last Thursday when me and Jess met up for a day full of Gatsby and Pride and Prejudice and a mountain of stress revising for our English literature exam the following day. After a couple of hours revision at mine we decided to go for an impromptu picnic- complete with a tartan blanket, guacamole and French bread (what more could you ask for!) however our food heaven was cut short by a sudden shower of rain by which point we retreated to the library for yet more revision!

I learnt two things that day, food is the answer to all and never ever match your scarf to the picnic blanket as you end up looking like a complete idiot! Lesson learnt :)

Lots of love, Paloma xxx

Swim down to the fathoms of your soul, if you don't try to get your feet wet, you're a liar and a troll...

♫ Float Forever - Peace

Hey guys,

Exam time is nearly over for us...this time next week we'll be in oxford street shopping for outfits for the Company Blogger Awards (you can tell that we're so excited)!!

With revision drawing to a close, procrastination has been taking over, and i'm obsessed with Youtube and all things plait/braid related - at least I can become a hairdresser if I fail my A - Levels :)
Fishtails are one of the easiest types i've learnt how to do and 'lucky' Paloma is my mannequin...unfortunately...I still have a way to go until i'm Nicky Clarke or Andrew Collinge :(

Love to hear your procrastination stories :)
Loads of love, Jess xxx

Hey all!

Hope everyone is having a fab day! These photos were taken on a sunny day in sixth form, everything always looks so pretty in the spring! Our winter wardrobe is steadily being replaced by lighter and floatier fabrics. Jess continued the spring them with her super cute skirt complete with a gorgeous bunny print and tied bow waist. I added a touch of spring loving to my outfit through my cute daisy earrings which were a recent buy from River Island for only £2!

Hope everyone is enjoying the long spring days!

In other news, the Company blog awards are approaching fast and I am in search for the perfect pair of nude shoes to wear for the big event! I have always craved a pair of nude heels but have never taken the plunge to buy them, so here are my top three picks from the high street! I am really meant to be saving for summer but plan to snap up the gorgeous Asos pair (left) before I talk myself out of it (an apology in advance to my bank account!)

Loads of love, Paloma xxx

I'm playing with a dangerous flame again, and i'm happy as can be when you are gone....

♫ Show me - Team me

Hellooooo :)

Some exams are now out of the way, which is such a relief and it feels like a weight the size of an elephant has been lifted off my shoulders, but unfortunately, four elephant-sized exams are approaching very quickly, but determined not to get crushed, Paloma and I are powering through with caffeine and stress.

The only thing getting us through exam is The Company Blogger Awards Ceremony, which takes place on the 29th of May, which we are both on the guest list to. Outfit planning can be so distracting and find myself scrolling though numerous retailers for possible choices, So excited!

Wish us luck on English Lit Exam tomorrow :*)

Love you all, Jess xxx

Guest Post- The creation of beauty is art

Hi there!

This is Shannon from the creation of beauty is art. Paloma and Jess have been kind enough to let me take over their blog and write a guest post. Since I am currently addicted to the sunshine, I thought it was only fitting that I write about Spring fashion. So, here goes…

Spring fever is here! I don’t know about you, but it has hit me in the worst way. Being productive seems even more difficult than usual. How could I possibly think about work when just outside my window, the sun is shining and the birds are singing?

Gone are the days of winter coats, bulky sweaters, and clunky boots. Now, it is all about cute shorts, pastel colours, and floral print. Yes, Spring fashion is everywhere – and I couldn’t be happier about it.

Lately, I’ve spent far too much time (and money!) shopping for those perfect Spring pieces. Added to my wardrobe? Floppy sun hats, crop tops, and shorts with bold patterns. Despite this, there are still some pieces my closet is sadly lacking. Most notably: lace shorts and a denim button-down top. There is something about the combination of lace and denim that I simply can’t get enough of!

This is why I’ve created my perfect Spring inspired outfit for …cos it’s the bee’s knees. Lace and denim? Check. Oversized sunglasses and coral nail polish? Check and check. What more could you need to look stylish and Spring ready?

What do you think of this spring look?

She'll never look the same way, there's another change in her, and we both knew this time...

♫ Teenage Daughter - Dog is Dead

 Hey my lovelies  :)

How are we all? Here is a quick little post - in a revision break, of what we wore to a play that I was in yesterday. It was called 45 minutes and was performed in Greenwich Theatre which was large and quite daunting! Luckily, Paloma and my family came to watch to put me at ease, although front-row-seated-Paloma became quite a distraction with her beaming smile almost leading to me corpsing my character :)

Nevertheless, it went really well and I am really going to miss the rehersals and the cast, but now...time for exams :(

Love you loads, Jess xxxx

Yeah you wanna find love then you know where the city is

 ♫ The 1975- The City ♫

Hey all,

These outfits were taken on the sunniest day in England this year, it was lush! And, as you can see we both braved skin tights and bare arms! It makes me realise how much I love summer fashion and the simplicity of it (no matching outfits to coat needed!)

We have officially entered the dreaded exam time that has been slowly creeping up on us for the past couple of months. Me and Jess both had Spanish and French oral exams this week, which has to be one of the most terrifying exams ever invented... the voice recorder alone brings back many memories of dodgy Spanish improvisation and awful verb conjugation! Good luck to anyone else sitting exams at the moment!

We received our invite from the lovely people at company and the thought of the company blog awards event in a few weeks time is getting us through exams- we are so excited! Now just the question of what to wear... ideas very welcome!

Its still not too late to vote for us for 'Best Teen Blog', we would be so thrilled!! (page 8)

In other news we also got voted as joint head of sixth form for next year by our year group, which we are so excited about! Re-vamping the common room is number one on our list! Time flies!

Loads of love, Paloma xxx
