How do you like your eggs in the morning, I like mine with a kiss...

How Do You Like Your Eggs In The Morning - Dean Martin and Helen O'Connell
Our Pancakes this morn :)

 Hey guys,
So we've both been under a lot of stress recently, prom is finally coming together after an entire day frantically calling venues (with pancake intervals), coursework stresses and of course the social and work life balance. Does anyone have any de-stress tips? we definitely need some help :)

The only thing getting us through the pressure is the beautiful british blue skies. Finally the sun is poking through the clouds and we can see some rays…oops don't want to jinx it!
Have any of you got any days out planned in the sunshine? I'm off to Liverpool for my LIPA recall audition this weekend, so its highly possible that I might completely miss it :(

Happy Shrove Tuesday by the way! Pancakes are so easy and of course tasty, i've had 10 in total, i'm so gonna regret it, but they were lush while they lasted. Paloma and I had an early start today so for fuel for a busy day we flipped some pancakes to some 80's tunes, perfect wake-up routine.

Love, Jess xxx

The way to bake a delicious cake...

Way to Bake - Snow White

How to make the best coffee cake!!!
THE most desired coffee cake in our Sixth Form, I give all credit to the gorgeous Mary Berry!

(cheeky Instagram pic)

Ingredients:
For the sponge -
200g butter
200g self raising flour
200g sugar
4 tbsp coffee essence
4 eggs
2tbsp vanilla essence
2tsp baking powder

For the icing -
75g butter
250g icing sugar
1tbsp coffee essence
2 tbsp milk

Preheat the oven to 160'C
Put all of the ingredients in a mixing bowl and beat until well combined
I like to use an electric whisk for around 5 minutes
Line 2 8inch tins with greaseproof paper or baking parchment and separate mixture
Place in the over for 20-25 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean
Mix the ingredients for the icing in a bowl and beat until well combined and of a good consistency
Once the sponge is cool, spread on icing with a palette knife for the filling and on top. Decorate with walnut halves and/or chocolate coffee beans

...et voila, tuck in :)

Stay with the pace, every drop that i'm touching, leaves a bittersweet taste...

♫ Neon Truth - Various Cruelties

Hey my lovelies :)

'Wow, the weather is so nice' ... is what I was saying yesterday. Well unfortunately we're back to damp old England with only an occasional peek of sun through the full grey clouds which covered the rare blue sky.

As on a Wednesday,  Paloma and I have a hour free of lessons, we always like to grab a coffee and get on with some hard core revision.

Today was slightly different as we were practising our 'Head of Sixth Form' speech as we both applied as a duo, typical us!! We'll tell you how it goes :)

Here's a quick post of our outfits, I wore a peplum with cute kahki shoes and Paloma wore a black a-line skirt which is perfect for this unpredictable weather.

So the weekend brought with it the lushest weather imaginable!! The kind of weather that makes every sun deprived person in Britain go crazy mad and go out onto the streets in next-to-nothing. Nevertheless it was such a gorgeous day and me and Jess spent the afternoon with some iced coffees and a cinamon pretzel to share (sorry for the lack of foodie pictures as you can probably imagine it was gobbled up before I could get my camera out of my bag!!) Jess wore her toothpaste kisses tshirt that I made her for her birthday- which was perfect for the spell of hot weather- and so I thought I would use a lyric from what is possibly the most beautiful song ever written.

On the subject of sunny weather I am still searching for the perfect sunnies, has anyone picked up a nice pair recently?

Loads of love, Paloma

Sugars and spices, slices and dices

Tiramisu

Hey everyone,

I apologise in advance for potentially breaking any healthy-eating resolutions once you have read this next post. My two favourite things have to be desserts and a good old cup of coffee, and whichever genius thought up the idea of mixing these two wonderful things together is amazing...Tiramisu has to be the best dessert of all time (calories aside), I made it on New Year's Eve and thought I would share this recipe with you, its from BBC Good Food (never fails me!) and is so so easy to make!

  • 5 tbsp golden caster sugar
  • 300ml strong coffee , made with 2 tbsp coffee granules and 300ml boiling water

3) Put the cooled coffee into a shallow dish and dip in a few sponge fingers at a time- don't let them get too soggy (like the one in the photo!)
4) Layer these into the dish until you have used half of them

5) Layer and spread half of the cream mixture on top of the fingers
6) Then repeat the layer again

She wants a sweet little antique diamond solitaire, to ensure that she won't forget me

'Diamond Solitare'- The Maccabees

Hey Everyone!

Today is actually feels like autumn or maybe even winter- it has been bucketing down all day and I am so cold, I am sat here with a jumper, scarf and hot cup of coffee! Not being brave enough to go outside, I decided today would be a great day for some nail art (I am normally so impatient waiting for them to dry!)

Today- being so rainy-  is the kind of day where the pack of cards come out and the board games too so I decided to attempt some casino themed nails- dice and cards! Heres my little tutorial enjoy! :)

1) Apply a base coat of white (I used Barry M in matt white)

2) Next using a nail pen, paint four red hearts to create a 'four of hearts' card.

3) On the other fingers, recreate other cards, I chose Aces (of diamonds and clubs and spades)

4) The cards are finished! You can mix and match trying to recreate different cards and styles.

5) On the other hand, using a black nail pen, apply small dots to recreate those on a dice!

6) Your casino- esque nails are finished! :)

Lots of Love, Paloma xx

Celebration coffees :)

Hey all :) Firstly, I can't believe we have reached over 75 followers in our first month!!!! We are so happy and were literally screaming down the phone to each other when we realised! This is more than we could ever have hoped for, thanks to everyone who follows, reads and leaves such lovely comments on the blog, they mean a lot! and we read every one of them :) Also, me and Jess just wanted to say  sorry that we haven't posted in a week!  :( I guess it has been down to the stress of exams, but after neglecting the blog for a week I am  pretty sure it will never happen again because we have really missed it!

Sorry for the big intro, now to the actual post :) Me and Jess treated oursleves to yet another shopping trip! Although these mainly consist of gazing into shop windows and adding the millionth item to our wish lists, it is always so much fun! We stopped off to have some coffees, which were gorgeous! and the perfect boost so that the shopping could continue for a few more hours :)

Both me and Jess were on a mission to find some black wedges, which are super versatile and a perfect staple item :) We wanted to find some which were easy to walk in and comfy, which is a lot harder than it sounds! After a lot of looking we found some! A gorgeous pair of black wedges from Deichmann. These are definitely going to feature in a lot of outfit posts to come and they were only £17...
I am in love!
So here are our outfits for a casual trip shopping :)
