She wants a sweet little antique diamond solitaire, to ensure that she won't forget me

'Diamond Solitare'- The Maccabees

Hey Everyone!

Today is actually feels like autumn or maybe even winter- it has been bucketing down all day and I am so cold, I am sat here with a jumper, scarf and hot cup of coffee! Not being brave enough to go outside, I decided today would be a great day for some nail art (I am normally so impatient waiting for them to dry!)

Today- being so rainy-  is the kind of day where the pack of cards come out and the board games too so I decided to attempt some casino themed nails- dice and cards! Heres my little tutorial enjoy! :)

1) Apply a base coat of white (I used Barry M in matt white)

2) Next using a nail pen, paint four red hearts to create a 'four of hearts' card.

3) On the other fingers, recreate other cards, I chose Aces (of diamonds and clubs and spades)

4) The cards are finished! You can mix and match trying to recreate different cards and styles.

5) On the other hand, using a black nail pen, apply small dots to recreate those on a dice!

6) Your casino- esque nails are finished! :)

Nautical Nails

Hi guys :) We've managed to post twice in a week, woooo :) Here is a quick tutorial on Nautical Nails as we both thought that it has been a LONG time since we did a nail post. Don't be afraid to try it, it's dead easy!

As you know, we've basically just started our blog and were hoping to be entered into the Cosmopolitan Newcomer Blogger Awards.
Please please please click on the hyperlink and vote and please spread the word (the more people you tell the more chance we'll do a giveaway), if we do win (optimistic, fingers crossed), we will do a massive and amazing giveway and i'm sure you'll all love it :D

First step is to paint your base coats.
I chose red for all of my nails and white for my ring finger :)
Using Nail Art Pens or a cocktail stick dipped in polish, draw on your beach chair style stripes,
i did blue and white alternating. Leave out your ring finger so that you can draw on it later.

On your ring finger draw an anchor in any colour you'd like, i chose the blue to keep with the nautical theme.
An easy way to do this is to draw a circle at the top of your nail, join that to a cross, then put a semi circle at hte bottom, but it's up to you :)

A quick review of the white nail polish I used :) It's essential to have a white polish in your collection,
this is by far the best white i've used and it's also great for homemade french manicure, cheap too!!

The finished product :) Perfect for those summery days when you wish you were on holiday already :)

Tuxedo Nail Art - Zooey Deschanel style

Nail Art Tutorial
After seeing Zooey Deschanel's nail art at the golden globe awards
we were inspired to create our own tutorial for amzing tuxedo nail art.
here are our step-by-step stages

Stage 1) Paint two even coats of white nail polish - preferably chip-resistant.

Stage2) When completely dry, paint the tips of the nail using a black
nail art pen.

Stage3) Now draw the bow ties. An easy way to start do this is by putting a dot
where you want the bow, and then drawing two 'even' triangles on either side.

Stage4 ) Probably the easiest stage, dot three blobs of black nail art pen
inbetween the tip and the bow tie - make them of equal distance apart.

Stage5) Paint your nails with a clear top coat to make them shine
and last for longer.

...And you're done! Easy as that, Zooey Deschanel style nails in 5 easy steps. Hope you enjoyed   x
