Hey all!

Wooo this should be the last that you hear of exams in a while as they are over! Now all our attention can be on the blog and summer- can't wait! These pictures were taken last Thursday when me and Jess met up for a day full of Gatsby and Pride and Prejudice and a mountain of stress revising for our English literature exam the following day. After a couple of hours revision at mine we decided to go for an impromptu picnic- complete with a tartan blanket, guacamole and French bread (what more could you ask for!) however our food heaven was cut short by a sudden shower of rain by which point we retreated to the library for yet more revision!

I learnt two things that day, food is the answer to all and never ever match your scarf to the picnic blanket as you end up looking like a complete idiot! Lesson learnt :)

Your carbon makes a star, and after all, that's all we are

Hey all,

It was Jess's 17th birthday on Sunday and I organised a surprise get together with some of our friends which was so nice! Haha as you can probably tell from the picture above (Jess will hate me for putting that up!) she wasn't expecting it! If you follow us on instagram you would have seen that one of Jess's presents was a Maccabees laptop cover, which we then got crazy excited about because the Maccabees liked our post, wow we are such fangirls! We went to Zizzi which is a super tasty Italian resturant and if there is one nearby you we definitely reccomend it! Continuing with Maccabees related presents I made Jess a 'toothpaste kisses' tshirt (has to be one of the cutest songs ever!) It was such a fun night, only bad thing is I still have to wait four months till I'm 17 (the perks of being a summer baby!)

Hey everyone,

The holidays are finally here! Which is good news for the blog, as hopefully this means a couple of proper trips out and exploring some new places to show you guys whilst of course sticking to our favourite tea rooms and cafes. Today me and Jess went out to eat with friends, I don't know what possesed us but we went a little mad eating-wise, and were so full we literally couldn't move for a couple of hours afterwards! It was so worth it though!

Because of its akward size I can't bring my DSLR with me to sixth form, and so usually have to make do with my digital to take outfit photos. But using it today made me realise why I feel in love with it in the first place, and am definitely going to be taking advantage of the fact that we don't have school for the next couple of weeks and experiment with some snapping!

What has everyone got planned for the Easter tomorrow?

Hey everyone,

We are finally on top of our blogging and are managing to post at least every other day! We realise that it has been a lot of outfit photos recently, but I should be posting my favourite ever smoothie recipe soon, (involves banana and peanut butter!), its so good, but I'll admit does sound a little different if you've never had it.. anyway back to the outfits. These were taken at a really nice local pub on the weekend where we had dinner, both opting for the veggie tart which was soo good! I can't believe that this peplum hasn't really made it onto the blog yet, its one of my day to day items, due to the fact that it is super comfy whilst not being too casual.

What is your grab and go item?

New Years EveFirst Love - The Maccabees

Hey everyone :)

How is everyone in the new year? I'm feeling quite stresses at the moment due to some exams at school which have detracted from the fun of the Christmas holidays due to an excessive amount of revison.

A positive thing that keeps me going is Paris. At the end of January, Paloma and I are going to Paris to attend a business conference and of course doing some sight-seeing :) This will obviously be a great opportunity to take some pics and will definitely be a future post on the blog.

Back to now, on New Years Eve, due to our families being so close, Paloma's family kindly invited my family to bring in the New Year at Paloma's house. It was so much fun! There is something about a family New Year that just beats one with entirely your friends. Luckily we manages to take some outfit pics of the day before having one too many rum and cokes :)

What did everyone do on New Years and What are your plans for 2013?

Loads of love, Jess xxx

How to make Veggie Bean Burgers

How to make Veggie bean burgers

Hey everyone! I thought that I would share with you one of my favourite new recipes, which I recently discovered on BBC Good Food website.

5 months ago I decided to take the plunge and become a pescatarian. It has been easier than I thought it would be! I would be lying if I said that Nandos doesn't tempt me on occcasions and that I sometimes wish I could run into a sweet shop and not have to worry about what I can and can't eat, but it is definitely worth it, and I hope that I can stick at it, as long as I get past the christmas dilema (eating a nut roast instead of turkey, thats going to be hard!

Anyway, these veggie burgers are soo tasty and can be eaten hot or cold (and you can even freeze them!), plus they are so easy to make! Even my dad, who, really is a no-nonsense meat eater, loved these!

Ingredients

2 x 400g/14oz cans kidney beans , rinsed and drained
100g breadcrumbs
2 tsp mild chilli powder
small bunch of corriander
1 egg
2tbsp Salsa

1) Empty two cans of kidney beans into a bowl and lightly crush with a potato masher.

2) To the beans, add the breadcrumbs, chilli powder and chopped corriander.

3) Next add the egg and salsa.

4) Mix and combine all the ingredients together.

5) Using your hands, form and shape six burgers out of the mix

6) Place the six burgers on a greased tray and put in a pre-heated grill for 4-5 minutes on each side until crisp and golden.

7) Serve in a bun or wrap and top with your favourite sauces!

The finished burger- topped with salsa and mustard- YUMMY!

Just a quite note to say, if anyone is looking for any good vegetarian cookbooks, I really reccomend 'FOOD' by Mary McCartney (Paul McCartney's daughter), it is a beautiful book full of really inspiring recipes. And the photography is amazing too!
