Remember Spring swaps snow for leaves...

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!!!!!!
How are we all on this lovely March morning?
Here is a quick little post as my gift to you (you're welcome), Chocolate Marshmallow Cupcakes...with the addition of mini eggs to make it Eastery :)

As we're both vegetarians, we can't eat the glorious invention that is Marshmallow. This recipe doesn't use ANY gelling agents, like gelatine or agar agar, but egg whites to make the marshmallow, so give these a go, cos they're The Bee's Knees (see what I did there)!

Love you loads, Jess xxx

1) preheat the oven at 180 C/ Gas 4

2) sift 200g of self raising flour, 1 tsp of baking powder, 1/4 tsp of bicarbonate of soda, 1/4 tsp salt and set aside.

3) Cream 125g of butter and 50g of dark brown sugar until light and fluffy.

3) add 1tsp of Vanilla Extract and 2 eggs, beating well after each egg. Fold in the flour mix and then add the cocoa mix (cocoa powder mixed with 200g of boiling water (cooled)).

5) spoon your mix into a 12- hole muffin tin (prepared earlier- blue peter moment there)

6) Place in the oven for 18 mins, or until a skewer comes out clean when placed in the centre, leave to cool on a wire rack.

7) Put 200g of caster sugar into a pan with 3tbsp of water. Bring to the boil over a high heat for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly until dissolved

8) Whisk up 2 egg whites, a pinch of cream of tartar and a pinch of salt, until it forms soft peaks.

9) Pour in the hot sugar syrup slowly while whisking. Only until incorporated.

10) Spoon the warm marshmallow into a piping bag and pipe onto the cupcakes in a circular motion.

Plate up et Voila :) Enjoy, Happy Easter :) xxxxx

Hey everyone,

The holidays are finally here! Which is good news for the blog, as hopefully this means a couple of proper trips out and exploring some new places to show you guys whilst of course sticking to our favourite tea rooms and cafes. Today me and Jess went out to eat with friends, I don't know what possesed us but we went a little mad eating-wise, and were so full we literally couldn't move for a couple of hours afterwards! It was so worth it though!

Because of its akward size I can't bring my DSLR with me to sixth form, and so usually have to make do with my digital to take outfit photos. But using it today made me realise why I feel in love with it in the first place, and am definitely going to be taking advantage of the fact that we don't have school for the next couple of weeks and experiment with some snapping!

What has everyone got planned for the Easter tomorrow?

Lots of love, Paloma xxx

Passion for Fashion

Hey everyone,

We have been a bit slow to jump on the bandwagon with Money Supermarket's latest competition but felt it was too good an oportunity to miss out on! As many of you probably know, you have to come up with three different 'themed' outfits, which all amount to less than £200, for the chance to win some amazing prizes, I have to admit that spending so much imaginery money on outfits was a bit of dream, as I don't tend to splash out £200 pounds on outfits all the time!

So here are our outfits... I went a little OOTD on the collages, couldn't help myself!

As we are both too young to get into clubs yet! we interepted this theme to be the kind of outfit you might wear out to a friend's party or nice do somewhere. We wanted to throw together loads of brights and pops of colour within the outfit and voila!

Playsuit, shirt, boots- Topshop, Collar tips- Asos, Bag- New Look, Lipstick- Kate Moss Rimmel

This is our take on the 'casual outfit', so I admit that this outfit may not be calling out 'slouchy' but I think that this would be a dream outfit to wear on a casual day out shopping. I am in LOVE with this polka dot shirt from Topshop, and feel it would look equally good tucked into my Joni high waisted jeans for summer!

This would be our ideal outfit if we were heading off to a festival this summer (a girl can dream!) The wedges and cat eyed sunnies also wouldn't look to out of place on a beach somewhere hot (dreaming yet again!), so definitely a versatile and summery outfit!

Hope you enjoyed our outfits, thanks for reading!

Lots of love, Paloma and Jess

Hey guys :) It's starting to look like spring!! (wow, it took it's time). We are both so excited about the Easter holidays which start TOMORROW, although we'll have sooo much revision to do, we'll still make time for some lovely springtime posts from our days out...hopefully no black tights :)

Yesterday, we took part in the Poetry Festival in our school, as we are the poet laureates, it was a lovely evening filled with some fantastic literature. Here is a quick lil post of what we wore :)

Hey all,

Hope everyone had a good start to their week! We break up from sixth form in a couple of days, I would say I was looking forward to it but the amount of revision which awaits me is a little bit depressing! But, the thought of spring, dresses and hopefully being able to put away my black tights is something I am looking forward to!

In an attempt to cure my Maccabees obbession (although realistically thats never going to happen!), I am discovering some new music, My number by Foals is my favourite on their album, and such a great upbeat track to get us though these last days of winter!!

What music are you loving at the moment?
If you have never listened to The Maccabees, do it now, you will not be dissapointed!

Teeny Tiny Smoothie post

As you might know, me and Jess have given up sweet stuff (this basically translates as anything tasty or delicious) and therefore I have had to find alternatives to keep me going between meals (I get so hungry!) I have rekindled my love of smoothies, I love the fact that they taste so good, are practically guilt free and one of your five a day! (sadly these ones don't include ice-cream or chocolate of any kind!) I have always had a love- hate relationship with peanut butter but there is no denying that I would eat a peanut butter cookie anyday! So when I found this recipe for a banana and peanut butter smoothie in my innocent smoothie book I was so curious that I had to try it.

This is honestly better than any smoothie or milkshake I have ever had! Also, if you are feeling super hungry add in some oats or seeds, and believe it or not it can last you till dinner- yay!

Lots of love, Paloma xxx

Ingredients (serves 1)

1 medium banana, peeled
3 tablespoons plain yoghurt
125ml milk
1 tablespoon peanut butter

Hey everyone,

We are finally on top of our blogging and are managing to post at least every other day! We realise that it has been a lot of outfit photos recently, but I should be posting my favourite ever smoothie recipe soon, (involves banana and peanut butter!), its so good, but I'll admit does sound a little different if you've never had it.. anyway back to the outfits. These were taken at a really nice local pub on the weekend where we had dinner, both opting for the veggie tart which was soo good! I can't believe that this peplum hasn't really made it onto the blog yet, its one of my day to day items, due to the fact that it is super comfy whilst not being too casual.

What is your grab and go item?

Hey you lovely lot!
How are you all? Here is a quick post showing what we wore today on a normal day in Sixth Form. Today, I went to the theatre to Steptoe and Son by Kneehigh. It was a really good play which was oozing Kneehigh's typical ethos. I am studying Drama at A level and am very passionate about it, so I see a lot of theatre and Kneehigh is one of my favourite practitioners, I definitely recommend them, but be warned, they love to express the darker sides of stories which we know and love.

Have any of you seen any theatre recently? Love you all loads, Jess xxx

Hey everyone,

Jess was in a play with her youth theatre group on the weekend, it was amazing. It was about UCAS applications, which has got me thinking about university yet again, ah, decisions decisions....

Here are the outfits that we wore for a coffee and catch up. I decided to brave my Rimmel Kate Moss Matte lippy (colour 110) to liven up a dark outfit. The colour is unbelievably bright so I had to blot, blot, blot. I am normally terrified when it comes to lipsticks, I have had this one for about a month and not worn it out (terrible- I know),but I really want to start wearing them more, and think this bright colour will be great for spring and summer, if it ever comes around!

Talking of summer, has anyone planned to go to any festivals this year? me and Jess are both really indecisive, as we have never been to one before but really want to this year, all the best ones seem to be abroad!

Lots of love, Paloma xxx
